ARTIST DEVELOPMENT
One of our newest services is an “Artist Development” program, offered by AGBANDS. This program is geared for students pursuing a career as a musician. It emphasizes vocals while setting a musical foundation in instrument technique, note reading, and ear training. These students will be expected to execute three or more complete studio sessions per academic school year (Aug-May). Each studio session will be no less than 12 hours and no more than 15 hours per recording. Studio time is locked in at the special LMD rate of $75.00 per hour for the 2009 / 2010 academic school year. Students will purchase all studio time directly from LMD. Students will also be expected to perform with the AGBANDS program. Each student will perform with every band to expand their versatility and comfort level on stage.
Students in the “Artist Development” program will complete an artist profile with AGBANDS. This profile will consist of a photo shoot with Universal Shots, a division of Linwood Music Development, Inc., a BIO, which the student will provide, a DEMO CD of all recordings the student has executed, and a video of one performance. Photo shoots will need to be updated annually. Each student will be featured on the AGBANDS website with their own domain so that they can be found and presented to the public as a professional. When the student has completed four recordings a press kit will be organized and sent to record labels, promoters, potential sponsors and companies, and various fine arts agents nationwide. The fees for this press kit will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
The “Artist Development” program should only be pursued by supportive parents who understand sacrifice. Sports, clubs, and other extra curricular activities must not interfere with students in this program. These students may be asked to be excused from school on certain occasions, and traveling within a 100 mile radius or more is not unlikely. Our objective for these students is to present them to the public as often as possible so they have the highest chances of success in the music industry. They will be presented as professionals and will be expected to act as a professional. This program is rigorous, but valuable for students who want more than instruction alone.
